Don't think I've abandoned this blog. I haven't. As a matter of fact, I wrote an amazing, exciting entry where I finally review helpful sensory products. The problem is, I applied to the affiliate program of one of the products and have been waiting. And waiting. And waiting. The company is not writing back. And it's frustrating, because I know my readers will go and buy the product, and I'd like a cut of it. Yes, I'm selfish. Ha.
So I'm waiting to hear from the company. If I still won't hear from them by tonight I'll post it as is; it's a shame to let time slide by without new content.
I've also been busy with other things; I've been tinkering around with the layout of this blog and it's a lot of fun. Note the new tabs all the way on top of the page; I love the new streamlined look; hopefully it'll make navigating this site easier for newbies. I must thank my friends Hindy G. and Chaya B. for their selfless assistance and ideas.
Secondly, my friend who helped me set up the Tabs on top of the page runs her own recipe blog, www.confident-cook.com. After posting Dovi's favorite Hot Cereal recipe, it occurred to me - Hey1 I can totally make a separate blog for my favorite family recipes - and thus organize them in the process!! Hence the birth of my next new blog, www.kosherdelish.blogspot.com. I'm so excited about this new venture.
I'm crazy, taking so much on myself. But sometimes I burnt out writing just about Dovi and want to write about something else. This also proves my point which I will talk about on my 'blog' blog - it's so easy to start a blog!
It's maintaining it that's challenging.
Anyhoo, I'm off to the dentist. I hope I'll have heard from my new wannabe affiliate by then. For now, enjoy the introductory posts on my other 2 new blogs.
I just came across your blog last night. i found a link to it from your posts on imamother. I've read your bina serial on your infertility journey and i have to say i looked forward each week to read the next chapter. your style of writing reminds me so much of etka gitty schwartz's writing.. i really enjoy reading your stuff! i must have spent a couple hours last night reading your blog.. i couldnt stop reading. you write really well.. and i have to say, when my kids woke up this morning i couldnt stop hugging them.. you really teach us what to be grateful for. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're enjoying it :). I can't wait to write further, this is a story begging to be written. One day it will probably appear in Binah but at this point I don't want to my in laws to read it so I'm better off here :)
DeleteI don't know all that much about making money blogging (very little in fact) but from what i've heard, unless you are a big time blog, blogs only bring in peanuts. I'd suspect that you'd be much more lucrative by sending in articles to the various weekly magazines (I've read some of the articles you've sent in in the past and I enjoyed them). Not that the two are mutually exclusive of course...
ReplyDeleteI've written in the magazines but somehow I like the idea of being my own boss and seeing the feedback right away. I'll still write for them IYH but somehow right now I dont have patience to be busy with that. and btw I think the blog address to the Blogging site is wrong, I will fix it.
DeleteBtw, I initially tried posting the above comment on your other blog, however the security is too tight there I couldn't post. (I.e. the security words "to prove I am not a robot" were too blurry to make out and the audio version was to fuzzy as well. I'm glad that this blog doesn't have that added security.
ReplyDeleteactually thanks for making me aware bout that, i did not know and will go and fix it.
DeleteI also tried posting a comment on he other blog but it wouldn't let me post anonymously. I also use my phone, don't know if it makes a difference. And yoink ow who we are even when we are anonymous, right?
DeleteI allow anonymos postings on both blogs - check again. and nope, I have no idea who comments when it's anonymous.
